Overview: A Mitropa Cup edition where Ferencváros tried to find their plays and their match. The team improved after some rounds. Even their best player, Dr. György Sárosi, after the injury was still trying to find his great matches again. The team had some mistakes sometimes, but they always fixed them at Ülloi-út. Ferencváros were sure that they were going to beat Slavia in Hungary, but this time they did not perform well for the first time while playing at home. Háda was regular the whole competition. He didn't not make lots of mitakes and saved Ferencváros when they needed him. Tátrai was Fradi's worst defender for sure, his defending was not good compared to Korányi and even when Polgár played as defender. Korányi was excellent when Ferencváros needed him, but his harsh matches kinda put Ferencváros in a bad position, but in general, Korányi had a brilliant 1938 Mitropa Cup. The midfield worked sometimes, but when they did, they just controlled the whole match and Ferencváros would dominate every single part of the field. Polgár was easily the best of them, his matches were outstanding in terms of fighting for the ball and controlling the opponent's forwards. Lázár was improving while Ferencváros were eliminating other teams. He started not being in good form, but then he began to perform like usual Lázár, one of the best midfielders of the 30s. Magda was a played with better defensive skills and passing skills or creating chances for the forwards, but he was not regular at all. Some matches Magda would stop the winger and help Polgár or Sárosi III, but in some matches he would make some mistakes. György's brother, Béla Sárosi, could not prove much in this edition because he could play only 2 matches, both matches against SK Slavia Praha were great, he performed pretty well. Sárosi III was probably the best played on Fradi's side on both finals. Pósa only played a match which he was in charge of stopping Bindea. Silviu Bindea scored 4 goals and Pósa completed failed his task. Every single forward had great and bad times. The biggest start of the team, Dr. György Sárosi, was great after the Round of 16. Dr. Sárosi started having great performances against Ripensia & FC Juventus. Sárosi could have scored more goals in this edition, but his shots were so not accurate and even with that he scored 7 goals. In general, Sárosi had some really good plays and could create some chances and saved Ferencváros sometimes. Kiss only scored 2 goals, but his plays helping and assisting the other forwards were great, his dribbling could create space so others could finish the net. Toldi had some matches where he fought a lot for Ferencváros, and some other mathes where he was playing a harsh match which could put Ferencváros in a bad place. His best performance was for sure the hat-trick against Ripensia. The right winger, Táncos/Tänzer, was better in the second halves where he could dribble almost every defender, but it did not happen in both Finals against SK Slavia Praha. Táncos was still way better than Biró who could only play a match and showed nothing. Kemény was effective in terms of scoring. He helped Ferencváros against FC Juventus and in the first match against SK Slavia Praha, but he was not the best winger of Ferencváros in this edition. Even with Kemény being effective in terms of goals, he could not produce better plays than Táncos and sometimes would fail to pass the defenders. Left to the Right: Dr. Sárosi(c), Háda, Tátrai, Toldi, Magda, Sárosi III, Polgár, Kemény, Lázár, Kiss & Táncos.

The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: "Pavlovici is a very good goalkeeper" - Dr. György Sárosi. Ferencváros could have scored way more goals. but the team failed with their shots and also Pavlovici had a good match. On the other hand, Toldi was successful and scored 3 goals for Ferencváros. Háda was better in the second half, but in general he did not have a good match. Fradi's goalkeeper conceded 4 goals. Even with Bindea scoring 4 goals, the defensive line of Ferencváros was good. Tátria was the best defender, sometimes he had to fix some mistakes of Magda. Korányi was also good, but he made a mistake. Magda was the worst Ferencváros played, he was not in good form. Polgár was the best midfielder, he fought every single moment. Pósa was not enough to stop Bindea in the first half, but after the break he changed. "Bravo, Toldi" - Hungarian media. The forwards were the best part of the team. Toldi was without a single doubt the best forward of Ferencváros. Dr. Sárosi showed that he was improving after his injury, the goal that he scored was really good. Kiss deserves praise for his great game. Kemény was the worst forward for sure, he failed even more when the second half started. Táncos had some really good runs, he even scored a goal in the second half giving Ferencvárosi the win.

With a great working midfield and with a in form Sárosi, Ferencvárosi thrashed Ripensia. Polgár was the best in the midfield, hed showed all sorts of tactical and technical gameplay, and in the second half, he was still in great form and showed that his work was impeccable. Lázár controlled the attacks, but was not strong defensively compared to Magda, who almost stopped Dobay. Háda had no problems in this match, Ripensia's goal could not be saved. Dr. Sárosi had a brilliant match, he seemed way better than the last matches. Sárosi's shots were more effective. Táncos was the best winger again. Toldi had another good match, he did not play like in Venus Arena, but still was in good form.
