Bobby Walker, Scotland's Prince of Dribbblers, was a great figure in pre-war football.
He must have presented his colleagues with hundreds of goals in his day with that elusive swerve of the body, his twinkling feet, and his cunning.
When first I played against him I was advised to go the opposite way to my original thoughts in tackling. Nothing could be more expressive of the character of Bobby Walker play than that instruction, given by one who had sad experience of the wiles of the famous Hearts forward.
Such as Bobby are but are, and we cannot spare them easily in our football world. His name and fame will live long in the memory of more than Scotia's sons. Vale!
