Another edition of the Copa América — Campeonato Sudamericano. In previous editions, goalkeeper Américo Tesoriere had demonstrated a high level of performance under Argentina's goal. This, however, was not enough to bring more conquests, apart from the 1921 edition — which the brilliant goalkeeper did not concede a single goal. Tesoriere was in brilliant form.
Right from the first match, the quality of Argentina's defensive system was noticeable. The quintet, however, did not perform up to the names of Manuel Seoane and Gabino Sosa, for instance.
Even when the Paraguayans' attacks got past the half-back line, the actions were stopped by the Argentine goalkeeper. Tesoriere was inspired and was considered one of the best.
MATCH REPORT (ARGENTINA): Tesoriere and Denis were two colossal keepers who ultimately determined that the score was not open.
The next match was against Chile. Tesoriere, who had already demonstrated his ability against Paraguay, put in a remarkable performance. Argentina eventually won the match 2:0.
However, his best performance was reserved for the last match of the tournament.
In the last match of the tournament, only victory was important to the Argentines. To achieve this, however, the vanguard needed to demonstrate superior football, be effective and combine well through their crack forwards. Nevertheless, what was seen was a truly impressive performance by Tesoriere, who managed, once again, to finish the championship without conceding a single goal.
The Uruguayan bombardments, especially those carried out by Pedro Petrone, were constant and incisive. Tesoriere, in turn, was determined that no goal would be scored by Uruguay.
AMÉRICO TESORIERE: My best memory and performance was in 1924. I was at the height of my form. I had, modesty aside, a regular performance throughout the championship, which culminated in the match against the Uruguayans, where Romano and Zibechi, old match rivals, carried me off the field on their shoulders. I will never forget that moment.
In the second 0:0 draw, Tesoriere was widely considered the best player of the match.

Although Argentina had excellent quality up front, the highlight was definitely their defensive system, especially the performances of Tesoriere himself, Ludovico Bidoglio and Florindo Bearzotti.
For the second time, the outstanding goalkeeper left the tournament without conceding a single goal, standing out especially against their rivals from Río de La Plata.
