S.K. Slavia amazingly thrashes the visiting team and takes the lead in Národní Liga — Kopecký was the match's top scorer — S.K. Kladno sank even further.

In the ninth round of Národní Liga 1939/40, S.K. Kladno would have a meeting against S.K. Slavia, of Josef Bican, at Stadion Letná. At that time, the red and white team from Prague was in second place, just behind A.C. Sparta. S.K. Kladno was last placed in the league, with six defeats and just two wins. The visiting team, moreover, had the worst defense in the championship.

As much as S.K.'s latest performances Slavia in Národní Liga were not befitting their true power, The Kladno team was in debacle for a long time. In the last round, Kladno resisted A.C. The persistent rain ended up leaving the ground quite precarious, but the technically advanced players from S.K. Slavia stood out against the weak performance of the Kladno team.
