A SENSATIONAL RESULT
SLAVIA-FERENCVÁROS, 4:0 (2:0)
Vacek, Kopecký, Vytlačil, Horák. — Slavia to the Quarter-Finals! — Korányi causes an incident at the end of the match. — Ferencváros in disbelief with the result.
After the disastrous performance in the first match played on Hungarian soil, S.K. Slavia had a difficult task to accomplish in Prague. With a deficit of three goals at the start, the team would face Ferencváros F.C. at the Stadion Letná. The Hungarian team put in an exceptional performance in Budapest. Therefore, causing a certain amount of skepticism from local supporters. To advance to the Quarter-Finals, Červenobílí had to score at least four goals. It was said that if the conditions were right, in addition to an alignment with luck, the red team from Prague had chances against the Magyars.
Ferencváros went to Prague with the same team that had won in Budapest. S.K. Slavia, however, would change the position of their players in the half-back line. The veteran Antonín Vodička would return to the right half-back position; Karel Průcha, as centre-half; Jan Truhlář, as left half-back. This was supposed to give more calm to the line, as well as to try to stop the combinations of Dr. György Sárosi and Géza Toldi.
Just five days after the match played in Budapest, the second clash was confirmed. Under the command of the Austrian Dr. Adolf Miesz, the meeting in Prague would be held on Friday.

Slavia started their attacks and Ferencváros could not do much against their outside forwards. Slavia ended up scoring two quick goals which gave the meeting a totally different atmosphere.
The Magyars tried to get a goal, but their attacks did not damage Slavia's gate. Géza Toldi constantly kept trying, but without being successful. The inside left stood out, but he was not enough to beat Plánička.
Slavia managed to eliminate Ferencvárosi in the last 10 minutes of the match — a truly unexpected result, in which not even the most optimistic supporter of S.K. Slavia would wait. Fradi could not believe that their team lost to Slavia. A dramatic ending happened.
MATCH REPORT (CZECHOSLOVAKIA): It was an exciting match and a sensational result. Slavia beat the Ferencváros by no less than 4:0. Thus, qualified for the next round of the cup. The match was further proof that football is a game in which better performance, higher class and game intelligence are not always decisive. Slavia won by four goals, although they were hardly superior to their opponents.
After the match ended, full-back Lajos Korányi hit the young Kopecký in the face. An anarchic atmosphere is created. The public then went crazy and started throwing bottles. This was a bad ending for Fradi. The S.K. Slavia, on the other hand, receives cheers from the audience.
S.K. SLAVIA.
The home team knew that Ferencváros would enter the field much more defensively. The Vodička-Průcha-Truhlář formation worked very well. In the forward line, in turn, two minutes each in the first and second half brought about the sensational result. Everything that happened before, in between and after was irrelevant to the final result.
František Plánička was in excellent form; it was he who saved his team in many difficult minutes. Not even when his two full-backs, Adolf Fiala and Ferdinand Daučík, made serious mistakes despite their best efforts. Indeed Plánička seemed to be in his old days.
The newsly combined line of half-backs had a lot of defensive work to do, therefore they didn't have much left to support their own forwards. It could also be said that Průcha, as a centre-half, against Dr. Sárosi, did a better job than Truhlář in Budapest. The wing half-backs also worked well defensively well. Vodička brought calm and connection between the half-back line and the forward line, he was the one who most combined with the vangaurda. However, the got tired towards the end of the match.
The centre-forward Vojtěch Bradáč did not perform well; the focus of the team ended up being the two outside forwards, especially Rudolf Vytlačil, who constantly penetrated the Hungarian defense. Horák improved compared to his performance in Budapest. What also helped both outside forwards was the fact that the opponent's wing half-backs were remarkbly poorly placed and were slow.
Of the two inside forwards, Bedřich Vacek stood out more than Vlastimil Kopecký.
FERENCVÁROS F.C.
The low performance of Fradi can be reflected by the weak performance of the flanks and the apathy with which the team entered the field, especially the forward line. This was a tactical battle, but one in which Slavia entered with much more focus and attention. After some advances by the team, the actions became slow, lazy, without any confidence imbued in them that was reflected in the match in Budapest. The team was without any determination. As S.K. Slavia scored more goals, the more sedated Ferencváros became.
MATCH REPORT (CZECHOSLOVAKIA): The players of Ferencváros relied too much on defending themselves in Prague.
József Háda had a great match. If it was not for the goalkeeper, Ferencváros would concede way more goals. The full-back line was could not handle the task of stopping Slavia's actions.
The half-back line did not perform well, especially the wing half-backs. Contrary to what was shown in the first match, Pósa made a lot of mistakes. Gyula Polgár was not enough to control the attacks of Slavia, but he was considered the best of the half-back line. Gyula Lázár was considered even worse than Pósa.
The forward line was not great either, only Toldi was trying until the end. Kemény was really well marked by Vodička and could not have the same effect which he had in the first match. Kiss could not do much and Táncos also did not have good attacks.
Dr. Sárosi was apparently too timid to try something different. It can be said that Průcha kept the Hungarian very well marked. The Hungarian showed his great dribbling, but did not damage Plánička's gate.
COMMENTS ON THE MATCH.
Imre Salgó: So many attacks should not end without a goal.
Loos: Toldi is worth a million.
József Háda: We attacked for eighty minutes and lost the match in ten minutes.
Ferdinand Daučík: Slavia's defense easily destroyed Fradi's soft attacks.
Kemenessy: We lost the match in the last six minutes. We weren't even lucky.
Valousek: Our defense, which was so weak in Budapest, was now up to the task. I regret the incident at the end of the match, but it can happen in every Mitropa Cup match.
