After winning Středočeská župa 1919 undefeated, the formidable A.C. Sparta team qualified for the play-offs against the champions of their respective local championships: Kladenská župa, S.K. Kladno; Západočeská župa, FK Olympia Plzeň; Východočeská župa, SK Hradec Králové. This cluster of matches would decide the champion of Czechoslovakia.
The first match was held on 19/10/1919, Sunday, against the best qualified opponent in the group, S.K. Klano, who, like A.C Sparta, had won the respective championship undefeated. The match was decided in the first half, through a goal from Václav Pilát, after a center from Jaroslav Červený, and a penalty goal, converted by full-back Antonín Hojer, just a few minutes later.
A week later, the second meeting was against S.K. Olympia Plzen. This match had been decided in the second half, with the red team from Prague scoring four of the five goals just after the break. Pilát scored three goals, Janda and Červený each scored once for their side.
The last match, held on 09/11/1919, Sunday, was marked by the exceptional sovereignty against S.K. Hradec Králové. A.C. Sparta scored a total of ten goals in the match — five in each half. Antonín Janda scored four goals for his side while Pilát, once again, scored a hat-trick. Josef Sedláček, the outside right, added two goals and Káďa scored one. The best player were Janda, Pilát, Káďa and Hojer.
Just as they did in the Středočeská župa, A.C. Sparta won the Mistrovství Ligy undefeated, scoring a total of seventeen goals, in addition to not conceding any goals. Pilát finished the tournament as the top scorer.
