CHAMPIONS...?

Another league edition had begun. However, this was the first unified edition of the championships. Asociační Liga was the first professional league system in Czechoslovakia.
For the first match, Sparta conquered an excellent performance against Vršovice. However, they began to decline in the league, losing the next match to S.K. Viktoria Žižkov for 1:0, and after beating S.K. Liben 7:2, and with a very mixed team, they drew with Meteor VIII, 2:2. Sparta played somewhat irregularly. At that time, it was still unknown whether Vršovice's protests would be taken into account. If they were, A.C. Sparta would have had trouble recovering in the league table.
The month of June, however, was the scene of a real comeback by the red team from Prague. Sparta achieved some good results, thrashing on a few occasions — Čechie Karlín and Nuselský S.K. — and winning matches against the tough DFC Prag and, especially, against their main historical rival, S.K. Slavia.

The match against ČAFC was considered to be Sparta's last in the tournament. Depending on the outcome, the red team from Prague could be crowned champions.
A record attendance was recorded at the ČAFC Vinohrady ground. The match, however, was one of the worst ever seen on Czechoslovakia's pitches, due to a hard, reckless game, especially played by the home players. In the second half, moreover, both Kašpars were sent off.
However, Sparta defeated Václav Pilát's side, through a penalty converted by Poláček. Consequently, it was widely reported that Sparta had won the league title. HOWEVER...
The first match against A.F.K. Vršovice was annulled, therefore not being considered a league match due to the poor condition of the ground. The match was later rescheduled, but Sparta did not enter the field. At that time, W.O. would be applied to Sparta, but a new match was rescheduled for 08/11/1925.
A good goal difference was needed for Sparta to become league champions, but the final result of 3:2 against Vršovice prevented Káďa's team from conquering the league.
