During the 1920s, due to the new knowledge of the footballing power of South America, being, thus, represented by the tours of its teams to Europe and by the participation in the Olympic Games of 1924 & 1928, more precisely having its main representative as Uruguay, new studies were carried out, therefore new opinions were developed about the South American game. How did they played, the perception of their game, the development of footballers and other interesting stuff.
Dr. Lajos Mariássy, then president of the PLSz and who was twice coach of the Hungarian national team, shortly after the 1928 Olympic Games, wrote two articles on the main forces of world football in recent years.
