A match where Ferencvárosi TC was not in great form. Korányi was the best on Fradi's side. Tátrai seemed tired to play an intense match like this one. Háda could not do much. In general, the midfield did not do much. Lázár found a goal for Kiss in the second half. Sárosi was the best forward, he tried to create some plays, but in the end he had no result. Biró did not show much. Kemény had a better second half and Kiss at least scored a goal. Toldi was not in good form and was tired.

Only could save some players from this. Korányi, Polgár, Sárosi & Kiss tried. Even with an assists, Lázár could not do much.

Coach: György Hlavay. Ferencvárosi TC: Háda - Tátrai, Korányi - Magda, Polgár, Lázár - Táncos, Kiss, Dr. Sárosi(c), Toldi, Kemény. Goals: Neder(1, 21min[own goal]), Polgár(1, 65min), Toldi(1, 51min). The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: "The team is starting to come into good form. The second half at least showed this. I am delighted with Sárosi's strong play and Polgár had a great match" - Dr. Béla Melly. Ferencvárosi TC played an excellent match. Korányi and Tátrai were great. Háda had no problems against Židenice's forwards, but the saves that he made showed that he was in good form. Polgár was the man of the match for sure. Lázár did not have a good first half, but after the interval he started really good. Magda was playing a rough match. Táncos played a really good match. Dr. Sárosi had a way better match than in Brno. Toldi had a harsh match. Kiss sometimes had good plays. Kemény did not have a great game... "Wish Táncos received more balls" - Hungarian media. Ferencvárosi TC: Háda - Tátrai, Korányi - Magda, Polgár, Pósa - Táncos, Kiss, Dr. Sárosi(c), Toldi, Kemény. Goals: Toldi(3, 14min; 15min; 55min) Dr. Sárosi(1, 33min), Táncos(1, 86min). The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: "Pavlovici is a very good goalkeeper" - Dr. György Sárosi. Ferencváros could have scored way more goals. but the team failed with their shots and also Pavlovici had a good match. On the other hand, Toldi was successful and scored 3 goals for Ferencváros. Háda was better in the second half, but in general he did not have a good match. Fradi's goalkeeper conceded 4 goals. Even with Bindea scoring 4 goals, the defensive line of Ferencváros was good. Tátria was the best defender, sometimes he had to fix some mistakes of Magda. Korányi was also good, but he made a mistake. Magda was the worst Ferencváros played, he was not in good form. Polgár was the best midfielder, he fought every single moment. Pósa was not enough to stop Bindea in the first half, but after the break he changed. "Bravo, Toldi" - Hungarian media. The forwards were the best part of the team. Toldi was without a single doubt the best forward of Ferencváros. Dr. Sárosi showed that he was improving after his injury, the goal that he scored was really good. Kiss deserves praise for his great game. Kemény was the worst forward for sure, he failed even more when the second half started. Táncos had some really good runs, he even scored a goal in the second half giving Ferencvárosi the win.
Mitropa Cup: 17/07/1938, Sunday: Quarter-Finals - 2nd match. Ferencvárosi TC - Ripensia 4-1 (2-0) Place: Ülloi-út, Budapest. Referee: Generoso Dattilo(Italy). Attedance: about 24.000. Coach: György Hlavay. Ferencvárosi TC: Háda - Tátrai, Korányi - Magda, Polgár, Lázár - Táncos, Kiss, Dr. Sárosi(c), Toldi, Kemény. Goals: Dr. Sárosi(3, 25min; 37min; 61min), Toldi(1, 75min). The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: "Polgár and Sárosi are improving" - Hungarian media. "This result was expected" - György Hlavay Every single part of Ferencváros had a great match. With a great working midfield and with a in form Sárosi, Ferencvárosi thrashed Ripensia. Polgár was the best in the midfield, hed showed all sorts of tactical and technical gameplay, and in the second half, he was still in great form and showed that his work was impeccable. Lázár controlled the attacks, but was not strong defensively compared to Magda, who almost stopped Dobay. Háda had no problems in this match, Ripensia's goal could not be saved. Dr. Sárosi had a brilliant match, he seemed way better than the last matches. Sárosi's shots were more effective. Táncos was the best winger again. Toldi had another good match, he did not play like in Venus Arena, but still was in good form.
Mitropa Cup: 24/07/1938, Sunday: Semi-Finals. FC Juventus - Ferencvárosi TC 3-2 (2-1) Place: Comunale, Torino. Referee: Ján Bizík(Czechoslovakia). Attedance: about 11.000. Coach: György Hlavay. Ferencvárosi TC: Háda - Tátrai, Korányi - Magda, Polgár, Lázár - Táncos, Kiss, Dr. Sárosi(c), Toldi, Kemény. Goals: Dr. Sárosi(2, 44min; 63min). The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: "Ferencváros is Mitropa Cup's most dangerous team" - Italian media. "Sárosi's team" - Italian media. Tátrai had a secure match compared to Korányi, who could not stop the opponent's forwards. Magda didn't make lots os mistakes. Actually, he stopped the most dangerous part of Juventus. Polgár fought a lot and didn't seem that he was tired. Lázár was better than the last matches, but still was not enough. Táncos had a better match after the break, but the Italians found a way to stop him. Kiss in the first half, he was rather defensive. Dr. Sárosi was the best forward of Ferencváros. His shots were great, Sárosi got so much better after the break. Kemény was the worst forward by far. Played really badly.

Coach: György Hlavay. Ferencvárosi TC: Háda - Tátrai, Polgár - Magda, Sárosi III, Lázár - Táncos, Kiss, Dr. Sárosi(c), Toldi, Kemény. Goals: Dr. Sárosi(1, 78min), Kemény(1, 85min). [Note]: First match of Sárosi III in Mitropa Cup. The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: Juventus almost got to the finals, but 2 goals scored by Sárosi & Kemény gave Ferencváros the advantage and a fight for the Mitropa Cup 1938 title.
Mitropa Cup: 04/09/1938, Sunday: Final. SK Slavia Praha - Ferencvárosi TC 2-2 (2-1) Place: Masaryk, Praha. Referee: H. N. Mee(England). Attedance: about 52.000. Coach: György Hlavay. Ferencvárosi TC: Háda - Tátrai, Polgár - Magda, Sárosi III, Lázár - Táncos, Kiss, Dr. Sárosi(c), Toldi, Kemény. Goals: Kemény(1, 30min), Kiss(1, 64min). The Match, Player Perfomances & Quotes: "Ferencváros was better, we were better as a team. I'm glad my brother played an excellent match. I feel like the game has gone well, I didn't feel tired at the end of the match. The team in Budapest will produce even more. Háda had some good saves. Slavia's forwards sent some difficult shots by Fradi's goalkeeper could save most of them. Polgár was the best defender, he played a secure match. Tátrai had a mistake before the second goal of Slavia. The midfield was the best part of the team with Sárosi III and Lázár having a great match. Some even said that Sárosi III was not ready to play a match like this, but he proved them wrong. The young brother of György had a brilliant match against Bican. Lázár was also great, his plays were effective. After the second half, Magda started playing well defensively. After the III. FIFA World Cup, the Mitropa Cup 1938 was the first competition which Dr. György Sárosi played. Due to Ferencvárosi FC being the winners of Nemzeti Bajnokság I 1937/38, Fradi were one of the teams pointed as favourites.
The biggest start of the team, Dr. György Sárosi, was great after the Round of 16. Dr. Sárosi started having great performances against Ripensia & FC Juventus. Sárosi could have scored more goals in this edition, but his shots were not so accurate. Despite missed some great chances, Gyurka still scored 7 goals. In general, Sárosi had some really good plays and could create some chances and saved Ferencváros sometimes.
